There is a relationship between Effectiveness, Efficiency and Productivity. The premise is really useful for recognising how the two managerial paths interact with one another and how you measure success.

1. Recognise the importance of objectives and standards in relation to managerial success and why.
2. Consider how efficiency and effectiveness impacts on productivity
3. Calculate productivity levels as a company, by department, by people as appropriate
4. Benchmark for example against industry averages, best performance, prior year etc
