Quality Management & Measurements (3)

1. Total Quality Management for the SME

Most small businesses achieve success because they are small, agile and they wow their customers with excellent service. Delivering quality consistently is easier said than done. A small business needs to establish a passion for quality that ensures it becomes habitual.  This means establishing standards and measuring them, investing in capacity, capability and celebrating success.

During this session you will:

  • Consider Total Quality Management as a framework for your business (example video)
  • Discuss  Risk-Based Thinking the update in ISO 9001
  • Explore how the 6 Sigma model analyses problems arising in your business
  • Develop business standards & objectives

2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

Monitoring and evaluation should be a core element of any business. It is arguably even more crucial during turbulent times when sound decision making is vital and you may need to change direction quickly. It should form an integral part of your strategic planning. Then you can ensure your monitoring systems are developed up front rather than having to think about your effectiveness and performance retrospectively.

During this session you will:

  • Determine if Quality Circles and Kaizen might support business change
  • Measure performance against stated targets
  • Recognise the key decision points
  • Evidence your achievements to stakeholders
