Powerful Press Releases

Gone are the days when you could send a press release to the editor of your local paper in the post and bingo a relevant story of your business success becomes headline news!  Therefore in these videos we explore what makes a great media story and what you can do to bring it to their attention …

Feel free to request the templates I am happy to share.

1. Consider the content hierarchy in your business strategy for messaging

2. Consider the story you should be | could be | would be telling about your business

3. Decide how you can engage through a third party platform and how you might interact.  Revisit RT’s humorous yet relevant video (that they did in one take … NOT!)

4. Use the Press Release Path checklist to help you create a story that has media attraction and how to follow it up

Please do share your experiences with these models in the comments below.  I am building a portfolio of small business case studies and would love to include examples of what has worked well for you.

PS – If you need further help then give me a call on 07962 626604 to arrange a Skype session with me.

PPS – This exercise forms part of a series of workshops on Brand Building

  1. You’re very kind and generous Laura. For our part – we realised our attempt at a corporate video was ‘rough around the edges’, but, in some ways, that was an accurate reflection of who we are – and not least, it demonstrated the humour we have embedded in the team.

  2. I love the rough around the edges look. It is so real, plus you can really see how much fun you were all having. Have you seen the follow on How To Video that features your good self on Direct and Lumpy Mail?
