Weekly Smile – (TTC #762 & Blogtober #25)

Meet Brian the bird, despite the scarf, he shivers and shakes when you tap his head. I fob you not! He picks up any slight vibration of the table – like when we are eating and … gayly wobbles. He’s hilarious! He was a gift from our friends, Lindy and Steve who came for supper on Saturday night. Because it was day 23 of the Whole30 diet, they didn’t want to bring alcohol – so they brought Brian instead. 🤗

Lindy was concerned that Brian had flown in a tad early, but “Hold on!” I said, “A robin in not just for Christmas and “Hey”, I added, “He’s a perfect cheer for the whole of this dark and dreary season!” 😍

Boyfriend pulled out all the stops, with scrummaged apple and home grown celery soup to start. Followed by a hearty nut roast and mushroom sauce; served with hasselback potatoes, baked cauliflower, and lemon asparagus. Yum! Yum! Then for pudding, we had home-made mango and pineapple ice-cream; not too much, you understand; we were a tad ‘stuffed’. Just one thing would have improved the fayre; a bottle of half decent, full bodied, velvety plum and intense blueberry merlot. 🤪

“I would sell my soul to the devil right here, right now, for a large glass …” I grinned. Luckily the devil was too distracted watching Brian bob up and down. 😂
