There is a ‘minute’ male insect,

Who will make his fair share of noise.

Whenever he rattles his toys,

He deserves a certain respect.

This sound is designed to affect,

Like the thunder of a freight train,

The female, he wishes to gain.

Such is – the Water Boatman’s life,

In planning to attract his wife …

Mutely, she’ll pop open champagne!
