Bored? – (Shi-Rensa Haiku)
When time doth drag on,
Dust off the boredom dandruff –
Seek a diversion.
-o0o-
Seek a diversion,
Count back from ninety in threes?
Rise to the challenge.
-o0o-
Rise to the challenge,
Toy with a rhyming remnant?
Enjoy the freedom.
-o0o-
Enjoy the freedom,
Of thinking creatively –
When time doth drag on.

Thanks Pat, I wrote it as a senryu first, then decided it needed more. I was in A&E at the time! 🥴

very enjoyable Six*
*high compliment from one who views poetry (in all forms) like elaborate and intricate train sets that, once, too long a time ago, would be in certain store windows, to be admired and enjoyed. the thought of having a hand in it’s construction as distant as adulthood

Thank you, Clark. High praise. The first verse took ages, but when I decided to turn it into a SSS – the remaining verses fell into place. 😊

Thank Denise! I am beginning to sound like a drama queen … this week my MiL died. It seems like it’s just one thing after another!!! Somehow I need to make my way to Scotland from the SouthCoast for her funeral. But, I will keep dropping in. 😉
