Weekly Smile – (3TC #566)
Meet Skadi – the monster disguised in pretty pussy cat’s clothing. Yesterday, I saw her diligently staring at the compost bin, for ages. I had a little chuckle. I knew what she was after.
She had bought a mouse back for us in the middle of the previous night. We found it petrified behind the tallboy in the bedroom, unable to move an inch.
At least Jack, the big black bruiser cat, who deigned to lived here before, would eat his kills, leaving behind the heart and a tail for his servants to clear up. Why Skadi can’t abide by the house rules, I don’t know?
We’ve had to cover the garden troughs so she can’t dig up the Spring veg, and the large indoor plant pots lest we find a little packages. We have to close the toilet seats and shower door which means, she can only lick the residue water from the bath or sink. We know she does this, due to the trail of paw prints she leaves behind. Thankfully, we have just about got her out the habit of scratching the wallpaper, the leather suite and the carpet corners with thanks to myriad rolls of sellotape. Not that sellotape is going to go out of business, as there is cat fur everywhere!!!
It’s a good job there is a perfectly cuddly side to this mutt. As everyone knows, cats are a law unto themselves, and I can’t see her turning over a new leaf!

lol, cats are a law into themselves, that is for sure. And each one finds its own creative way to interact with the human world.

Love your combis Laura. The cat from my childhood was a mouser and lined up his kills on the back doorstep in order of size. None were bloody or chewed though. He was really proud of himself.

At least they were dead! Mind you … I remember a time when I stepped on a dead mouse brought in by DJ – the cat before Jack – on the stairs in the dark – in my bare feet – Ugh!!! 🤪
