Pain, Beam & Refuge (Rispetto Challenge #36)
Tis the darkest time of the year; the longest of nights.
Sorely missing a welcome beam from the sun.
The seasonal affective disorder fights,
Against any chance refuge; having some fun.
Gazing glumly at the rivulets of rain.
They stream down the window, mirroring the pain.
Yet desperately glad this mood will expend,
As dainty lights illume such gloom; this weekend!
(Rispetto)
Rispetto inspired by MMA’s Rispetto Poetry Prompt Challenge #36 Pain
In a total of 6 sentences so I can participate in Denise’s Six Sentence Story Challenge – Beam
Also delighted to include FOWC with Fandango — Refuge

Thank you UP – I only discovered poetry writing this year. I like the structure and finding just the right word. It’s the blank canvas that I always have a problem with. These prompts help me enormously. 🤣

For the record, I totally look forward to the 21st (of December) I choose to view it as the end of Winter, as the days from then are getting longer.
