Gallery (Six-sentence story #124)

Did you know that Picasso’s full given name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios (deep intake of breath) Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso? The things you can learn in the five medieval palaces that form the Picasso museum.

The evening before we had been to a sensual flamenco show in the darkly gothic Palau Damases which is right next door. I hope you are starting to get the vibe of this remarkable gallery of art. It houses over 4000 of the young genius’ works from his formative years, when he lived in Barcelona.

When Picasso was asked about his exceptional talent, he answered, “When I was a child, I would draw like Raphael, but it’s taken me an entire lifetime to learn to draw like a child.”
