Data Mining is the gathering of information – the term data science means looking for actionable insights from gathered data. Anything that helps to make the decision making process easier is an Actionable Insight. In this video we look at the many acronyms and terms in and around Big Data. Then consider a data science checklist around Doug Laney’s three V’s: Volume, Velocity and Variety.
