The Magpie
Long-tailed, sleek, its plumage gleams; iridescently
With green, blue and purple streaks – that catch the sunlight
And turns this black and white crow, into an image
Which captures its elegance … in spite of its aim.

Inspired by Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday Challenge. Click through for the rules if you want to join in! This week’s challenge is to write an Imayo poem. The subject must be about a bird! It can be any type of bird.

I love this it describes the Magpie well, they are among my favourite birds 💜💚

Magpie is beautiful, I didn’t know they are part of the crow family.
