Weekly Smile – (3TC #580)
The weekly smile goes to Willow, my Mother’s adorable hearing dog. She has joined our household, just for a while, whilst Mum recovers from a second fall and hip operation, in as many months.
Now, some of you will know that this home is a cat dominated household, and Skadi’s nose is well out of joint. She is not at all keen on giving up the position of top cat – you know how the puss communities are? 😆
We have had to employ a whole load of ingenious contraptions to keep them out of each other’s way. For example, there’s a shoe lace attached to the kitchen door handle that allows the door to remain open enough for the cat to squeeze through … to get to the flap; but too narrow, for Willow to escape. 🤣
She, the cat, however, is still not happy and is holed up in the wardrobe upstairs; demanding Boyfriend and I fetch and carry food, water, toys and her good self every time she needs a wee! Talk about waiting on her hand and foot (like a puppy-dog) … I don’t know? 🤪
Mum’s progress report, however, is good and it looks like she will be back home sooner, rather than later. So I guess it’s time for walkies and to make the most of Willow’s company whilst she is still on her holiday by the sea!

Poor Skadi! lol. I think all cats want to be treated like royalty, but this is goign a bit far. I’m glad your mom’s recovery is going well. Hope Willow enjoys the rest of her little vacation.

We give our cats royal names – we have Grace Kelly (she was named Grace when we “inhere-ted” her) and Albert (Albert was adopted after we saw the movie The King’s Speech) and have had Joséphine (for Joséphine Bonaparte) and Claudius (for the Roman Emperor).

Willow will learn her place as second fiddle. Cats don’t take no for an answer. lol
Happy to hear Mom is improving!

Thanks, Susan. She wasn’t allowed out today after all – hopefully tomorrow. My Sis is on standby. 🤞

Yes I bet she has. Especially if you didn’t scent swap between her and the cat first so they get used to each other before meeting.
