Efficiency is as important as effectiveness but not more so. However we shouldn’t forget that in today’s market landscape — things should be done efficiently too. We should use these two words in the same sentence. When we discuss doing something better, we should understand how the improvement impacts both effectiveness and efficiency.

1. Consider your business effectiveness and efficiency on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being fab in each of the key business functions as listed in the template below.
2. Focus on redefining business strategies that achieve the vision first
3. Use this analysis to explore the process maps for the areas of immediate concern from an efficiency perspective
4. Take appropriate action to change the efficiency levels to meet business goals
