Weekly Smile – (TTC #M266)

We have managed to sneak a week away from the cost of the kitchen renovations. Boyfriend and I have taken Franny for a tour of Somerset. Starting from Bath, we had tickets to see France crush England in the Under 20s Six Nations rugby. (Sadly repeated in the main game on Saturday!) Heyho! 🫣

The following day, we headed south to Cheddar Gorge via the glorious snow capped mendip hills. En route we came across Chew Valley Lake, the fifth-largest artificial lake in the UK, with an area of 1,200 acres. We had a few moments with a welcoming posse of swans, ducks, terns and moorhens who came to greet us. It was most amusing watching Boyfriend sprinkle the one slice of bread, we had found in the van and quite how long they would squabble over such morsels. πŸ˜‚

Not so dissimilar to our own behaviour, on Sunday morning, when we rummaged around a car boot sale in the field behind the campsite. Having mooched around the village over the weekend today we are planning a more rigorous trek around the lovely Cheddar Gorge today. Hopefully, I’ll have more to regale in Trent’s next Weekly Smile. 😊

  1. Familiar territory for me Laura. I used to live on the outskirts of Bath and a friend lives just outside of Bristol. Chew Valley Lake is gorgeous and the Gorge quite something. I still can’t get over the heights the goats get to without falling off! Sounds like you had a good time. Thanks for joining in.
