Weekly Smile – (TTC #986)
There was no petition for a Platinum Jubilee Party in our tiny little cul-de-sac. We are an eclectic bunch of neighbours who quite happily chat away but have never socialised, in the 24 years that I have lived here. 😊
On Friday, I was watching the Trooping of the Colour, when I had an inspired moment. Somewhere at the back of a cupboard I knew we had a Royal Standard. I’m not entirely sure whether I might be held up for treasonable pretence that the Queen was at our premises. It’d be a tad petty don’t you think? But if push comes to shove , I’ll claim it’s a metaphor … 😇
Little did I know, that our crazy neighbours John and Maureen had decided to present Prosecco to the best dressed house. Since we were the only house that made an effort with our one flag, we won!!! We shared a glass of bubbles with the first strawberry of the season from the garden and toasted HRH. 🤣
