Weekly Smile – (TTC #965)
Sorry – it’s no good I simply can’t fit the three word challenge into this week’s weekly smile. I haven’t had a migraine, and nor did I have toothache (although I did go to the dentist this week, to discuss the need for a crown – (expensive!) Maybe I could say that gave me nausea? Although, or the windy roads on the detoured route to Bath this weekend, did make me feel a bit ikky! 🤢
Yep – we took another trip to the city; for the last home match of the rugby season and … guess what? Bath actually won; making Boyfriend wonder if he’d made the right decision not to renew his membership.
The weather was lovely, all three days. We left Friday afternoon, arrived in plenty of time to take a long walk into the city, we had to laugh at our shadows; It looks like I have a really big butt and Boyfriend has enormous thighs. I promise that neither is the case!! 🤣
Boyfriend had to partake in this green beer. Sign of Spring, it’s called. I stuck to the red wine, which based on Boyfriends face, I think it was probably the better move. 😆
The Sunday drive home was much more civilised with a fascinating tour round Farleigh Hungerford Castle, managed by National Heritage. Another fascinating piece of history uncovered and now preserved along with eight lead caskets below the chapel. Known technically as anthropoid coffins, they contain the remains of Sir Edward Hungerford III (d.1648) and the family of his successor, Sir Edward Hungerford IV (the ‘Spendthrift’), who had to sell Farleigh in 1686. 🤓
