Weekly Smile – (TTC #930)

We took Franny out for a long weekend; it had been planned for some time. Saturday saw Bath V Northampton rugby; twas a forgone conclusion we’d lose; so no major surprise there. 🤪

Sunday was the first time to put up the “new drive away” awning. We thought we had plenty of time to do that AND go flutter at Bath Races. As zealous as always, boyfriend emptied the contents from its packaging and proceeded to erect, before reading the instruction manual.

After an awful lot of argy bargy, demands from moi (the supervisor) who was trying really hard to solve the problem, there was a few tears. Finally, we deflated the blessed thing and started from scratch.

The result was, three hours spent, on what the manufacturers claim to be 15 minute job. We missed the races!!! Hey ho! A pint by the river before sundown, dissipated the frustration. 😏

Monday boded better, a lovely time spent ambling around the city and a super supper in a Thai Street Food restaurant, full of tat and Asian customers, which is always a good sign, don’t you think?

Monday’s finale was at Bath Theatre with Mark Bell’s take on Cluedo. Mind you … twas a mystery how come “Mr Bodge It” wasn’t bludgeoned under the awning by the wooden mallet; the day before!!! 🤣

  1. Ah, memories of a camping trip with my parents and sister years ago. Dad hired a frame tent, but the first night, it was like a long tunnel rather than the tent Dad was assured you could stand up it. The ‘ground sheet’ was actually the inner tent and we’d got the poles mismatched, so spent the next morning colour coding what went where. It was actually a good holiday after that. Thanks for including the 3TC.
