Weekly Smile – (TTC #930)
I did write a Weekly Smile, when I was in Italy last week! Just found that the Internet system beat me! I didn’t have my lap top – just had my iPad and phone and I couldn’t make either work!!! I am of a certain age … obviously!! 😳
With a sudden rush of blood to the head, I thought to check my drafts … 🤪
Et voila! The post has been saved, after all. To be still my beating heart, I have copied and have included it in this week’s post …. 😇

I’m kind of in the middle of a weekly smile. We flew out to Naples on Wednesday to visit, in particular, the historical ruin of Pompei. Fascinating … As were the archeological and modern art museums in Naples itself. 😏

However, we found this city to be filthy dirty, which was a disappointing start to the break. Not helped, I’m sure, that it was raining cats and dogs. But, we haven’t let that spoil the trip. We’ve moved onto Rome which is delightful. Plus the sun has come out!!! 😎
We have done some hiking around the city which is just stunning. We walked to the Vatican City and back today, it’s the Colosseum and Palatine Hill tomorrow. When we fly back, Wednesday, my feet will need a serious pamper! 😝

Italy is great! I’ve visited Rome a couple of times, but only made a quick day trip down to Naples to visit Pompeii. I wish I had time to do the museum as well. Still , fascinating!

We liked Pompeii – but found Naples very dirty. Great Pizza tho!

Yes, they are famous for their pizza there. A lot of the original artifacts from Pompeii are in the museum, which is why I want to visit.

Have to say some of the glassware is quite remarkable, given they are so old – we did wonder whether the silt saved them. There is also a marvellous 3D model of Pompeii and a film that illustrated what Pompeii might have looked like. Naples is quite quick to get to by train from Rome – just saying … 😇

Thanks for joining in Laura. Sorry for the delay but we’ve been off line for three days. That pizza looks divine!
