Weekly Smile – (TTC #881)

Darn it! Missed last week’s weekly smile and three things challenge AGAIN! I did mention two week’s ago it was becoming a habit. Heyho! I ran out of energy, I’m not saying I was too ill from Covid but I found writing creatively a tad challenging. 😳

I did have a quiet weekend after sorting out the debris from Storm Eunice on Friday. We lost our greenhouse. My heroic attempts at trying to save it were, sadly, in vain; but would have made fun viewing for anyone watching my ungainly and inane efforts to keep the perspex panes from taking off. 🤪

After half an hour of wrestling with the lightweight aluminium frame, it eventually collapsed and I was able to manhandle the mangled mess into the back of the garage. To add insult to injury, I then had to chase the fair few tinies that had spilled out from the toppled recycle bin that were rattling around the cul de sac without refrain. What a racket! It was somewhat embarrassing when the young lad from Number 10 came out to help me!!! 🤣

And this post also includes Di’s Monday Three Things Challenge #881 The prompts: VAIN, REFRAIN, AGAIN. Do click through for the rules if you too, would like to join in.

  1. Sorry about your greenhouse Laura. So far we’ve been lucky with just 2 loose featherboards which were rejoined to the fence with large nails, a couple of loose ridge tiles and a rattly gate. The post for that snapped last year and Hubby had already repaired it. Storm Franklin hit us yesterday and that was the worst of the three this past week.
Thanks for the inclusion today. Keep safe.

  2. We’re on the east Lincolnshire coast, and the winds are fierce. Saying that, our garden is completely fenced in so we have some protection. When we lived in the cottage which was much further inland than here, we were forever patching up or replacing fence panels.

  3. For some reason I thought you were west coast. But Lincolnshire is lovely, when the weather is good!!! I travelled that way when I was the regional controller with the fashion chain, New Look. Twas many years ago … 😊
