Weekly Smile – (TTC #839)
Boyfriend and I took Franny to Bath for the weekend, despite the poor weather outlook on Saturday. Late afternoon, we made for the magnificent 15th Century abbey where, by luck, we found a girls choir rehearsing for an evening performance. The ensemble was accompanied by a harp, adding a depth of harmony to the acoustics that wrapped themselves around each and every arch. Delightful. 😊

Sunday’s weather was lovely; we strolled around this Georgian town, admiring the architecture, before heading for a bite to eat, in time for the 3 O’Clock kick off. Trying to abstract something from the menu that met all the criteria from the January’s 28 day ‘anti acid health kick’ diet was a bit of an effort. Eventually, I went with scampi and chips. Not entirely free of acid producing ingredients but it was the best of a poor choice. 😉

Then … arrest my beating heart! Bath Rugby only went and won. That’s the first match this season. It was by only three points and their opponents, Worcester Warriors, had a mere 14 men playing; following a red card send off, in the first three minutes. Dear me, we’re not complaining! Beggars can’t be choosers – we’ll take the win! 😆

Hi Laura. Thanks for the inclusions. I used to work in Grove Street, just down the road from Pulteney Bridge. Lovely city.

Wow! What a great place to work. We didn’t see much on Boxing Day when we went up for the rugby so Dave suggested a little trip with Franny this weekend. Most enjoyable. 😊

I’d park in Avon Street car park and walk through the city to work. I loved the Abbey, though it was ‘black’ then and they sand blasted (I think that;s how they did it) it years after I left to show it’s original beauty.
I’ve only been back once and so much has changed, but the Abbey is still awesome.
