Weekly Smile – (3TC #559)
Since lockdown last year, Boyfriend and I have been working on the garden, I can’t believe how much we have got done on this adventure and … how much ‘still’ looks like it needs doing.
Boyfriend, put the final touches to the Zen garden, this Sunday. It has been 18-months in the planning phase; pretty much ever since we came back from our two made tent tour of Japan. We fell in love with the tranquility of their Zen Gardens. Unlike those from China, they are simpler, more minimalistic in design, more focused on the beauty of individual pieces, to be viewed from the outside, rather than from within. Here the round stone hosts a spring of water, the pagoda will carry a candle (wind permitting 😊) and; as the plant grows, through the rocks, it will be sculptured by Boyfriend’s topiary wielding shears. For now – he just needs to perfect the art of combing waves into the white stones.
Anyway; now that’s finished, we are ready for the final part of the back yard renovation – the new lawn, due to be done at the end of this month. Can’t wait for the early May bank holiday BBQ when we can sit back, relax and toast Boyfriend’s hard work and my … fastidious supervision!

Tis blooming freezing here too today; yesterday was quite nice. Some burnt sausages wafted over the fence late afternoon, but we were too tired to care by then. 🤣 … here’s to next month 🤞

Brilliant! Boyfriend has gone bonkers on the reds this year. Good job they freeze well! We’ve suffered tomato blight in the last two – hoping for a different outcome this year? Fingers crossed 🤞
