Weekly Smile – (3TC #447)
I’ve been planning it, pretty much since August … when I say planning I probably mean ‘worrying’ about it. As usual, I finished honing the script on Wednesday – just in time to deliver it – that very evening. This is my Toastmasters Engaging Humour Icebreaker speech. Am I bad?
To be fair, it is not the first time I have delivered an icebreaker speech. The challenge for me was to find something, other than ‘work’, to regale and include enough amusing anecdotes to make people chuckle. I am not, what I would call, a comedienne.
In the end, I chose three things that make my heart sing, they are the theatre, music and dance. If you are interested, the speech is entitled Golden Years. It turned out well. Twas a nice way to start 2021 – with a smile.

Very nice icebreaker. I’m a huge Bowie fan, by the way.

Congratulations on finishing your speech – done is done, even if it is just in the nick of time!
