Weekly Smile – (TTC #797)
We got to go on holiday last week. It’d been planned for quite some time; an invitation to join our great friends, Linda and Stevie; at a country lodge in Devon. We had a great couple of days weather-wise; but Storm Arwen was already cast and entered stage left on Friday.

It put paid to a planned walk around Tamar lake. Serious wind chill factor meant we jumped back into the car, hardly before we’d got out. Brrr!
We found a quaint little cafe and warmed up there with plenty of stodge until we ran out of menu choices. Back at the country lodge, we lost electricity at 3.30 on Saturday afternoon and found it, flippant at 3.30 some 12 hours later. We knew that because all the lights came on in those early hours. Grrr!

Despite that the country pub, with inglenook fireplace, cancelled supper, Uber was working and we managed a rather super Rogan Josh, mushroom fried rice and a mean peshwari naan; nothing really warms you up better than a good curry with good company, even when it’s pitch dark. Nom! Nom!
